JAGTAG
I invented JAGTAG in 2005, the first 2D bar code to work on every camera phone in the United States. It delivered optimized multimedia content to smartphones and standard feature phones, meaning 87 percent of users could access JAGTAG bar codes without downloading a reader application.
JAGTAGs were featured in the 2010 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, which offered readers videos of the swimsuit models. The issue was also promoted through advertisements and marketing materials. The promotional campaign also broke new ground, as it was the first time a publisher had used 2D barcodes in out-of-home and print promotions.
Unlike other 2D mobile barcode solutions limited to smartphones, JAGTAG enabled publishers and marketers to share sweepstakes, promotions, and multimedia with smartphone owners and standard phone owners. At that time, 75 percent of consumers owned phones without mobile Web access.
